AJ is a communication and digital studies major from Sterling, VA. As a member of the basketball team, he is up early in the morning to find time to work out. AJ loves to be on campus whether in the fitness center, dining hall, or the convergence center to see his friends, workout, and study. Here’s a glimpse into how and where AJ spends a typical day at Mary Wash.
A typical day in my life. I like to go to the fitness center in the morning really early, usually right when they open around 6 or 7 o'clock, just to get a workout and to start my day. Maybe go for a run, lift some weights. I come to the UC to eat breakfast.
I'm in the UC right now with My boy and Julian and Lauren.
And I usually head to class. I have Spanish class on Tuesdays and Thursdays to start, and on Mondays and Wednesdays I have acting. And then after classes end, I go to lunch, and then I have practice at the end of the day.
And then after that, I usually go to the Virg, the HCC, to study my work for the day. If I'm not studying, I usually like to just hang out with my friends. We can be on campus or off campus.
It's close to everything, so you got different cities that are around. Everything's really easy to get to. It's not too close, but also not too far from home. It's a small campus, so you get to really know everybody, and you feel a lot of really close relationships with people. We like to play video games sometimes just to decompress.
At the end of a typical day, I'm usually exhausted. I mean, I do a lot of things in club and sports and school as well, so I'm usually pretty tired at the end of the day. But I mean, that's really what it's supposed to be like in college. You're involved a lot, so you're doing a lot. So I would absolutely need to feel exhausted for me to feel like I've successfully gone through my day.
